Configuring the options setting
If your configuration and/or host environment requires unique settings or special
configurations, Tandem Computers can provide assistance and minor firmware configurations
for specific platforms, software or drives through the use of this menu item. This setting is
factory-configured at
00001400
and should never have to be changed by the user. As
described above special situations may require that this setting be changed but it is highly
recommended that user consult Technical Support before changing this setting. Use the
Numeric Entry Method to enter the eight-digit hex value.

Selecting a Baud rate
Four different baud rates are available for connecting to a serial terminal or terminal
emulator. Other communication parameters are:
No parity, 8 data bits, 1
stop bit
and
xon/xoff
flow control. The three-pin serial connector on the back of
the subsystem allows connection to a PC serial port by using an extension cable. A
communication package such as PRO-COMM (with
xon/xoff
enabled) allows you to
upgrade the flash firmware serially. Select a baud rate by using the Pick Entry Method.
