Setting the SCSI ID
This configuration menu item sets the host SCSI ID that is used by the host system to select
the subsystem. Enter a value (0-7) using the Numeric Entry Method. Since no two devices
can have the same SCSI ID on the host bus, please consult your computer manual or
system administrator for available SCSI IDs for tape devices.
Note:
The ability to set independently the tape drive's SCSI ID and the host subsystem's SCSI
ID is very useful. As you add devices to a system's SCSI bus, you no longer have to
manipulate jumpers or switches on the tape drive. The subsystem ID can be altered from
subsystem's front panel without regard to the actual physical SCSI ID of the drive itself,
making SCSI device additions quick and simple.
