Accessing Capacity Analysis
After logging in to Matrix OE, you can access Capacity Analysis in several ways:

Select Tools
→Capacity Analysis... from the top menu bar.
•
Select Optimize
→Capacity Analysis... from the top menu bar.
•
Select Tools
→HP Matrix OE visualization from the top menu bar, and then click the Analysis
tab.
Exploring the Analysis tab
The Analysis tab (the Analysis Dashboard), is your starting point for understanding resource
utilization on licensed servers.
Readiness information
When you open the Analysis tab, the Capacity Analysis Readiness screen might appear. This
screen appears automatically under the following circumstances:

When the first day's data has not yet been collected or analyzed.
The initial data collection retrieves all data available on the managed systems. It takes up to
24 hours for the first analysis to be completed.
After that, analyses become available within hours after the most recent analytical calculation,
which is done nightly.
No data is collected or analyzed unless managed systems are licensed for Matrix OE or
another permanent product that uses Capacity Advisor.
•
When the current user is not authorized to use Capacity Advisor.
•
When the user was recently authorized, but permissions have not yet propagated to the
Analysis tool.
Users with newly-given permission to use Capacity Advisor should expect to wait a minimum
of 20 minutes for their authorization to be associated with the data store underlying the analysis
functions.
NOTE: If Capacity Analysis is not working as expected, review the points in “Data analysis is
not working in Capacity Analysis” (page 170) .
After the data is analyzed for presentation, and user authorization is complete, the Analysis tab
displays the server and data range selector and the list of existing analysis queries.
