4.6. EARTH : EARTH RESISTANCE AND SOIL RESISTIVITY MEASUREMENT
Turn the
switch on EARTH  position.
Switch on the instrument.
The key
FUNC permits to select one of the following measuring modes
(which can be shown cyclically when pressing the key):
 Mode “
2P” (the instrument measures earth resistance between 2 points).
 Mode “ 3P” (the instrument measures earth resistance using two auxiliary
earth rods).
 Mode “ “ (the instrument measures earth resistivity).
The resistance is measured with a 4-cables voltamperometric method, so the value
measured is not depending on the utilized cables. For this reason this method doesn’t
need any cables calibration.
If the cables weren’t long enough, lengthen them or utilize cables longer than the standard
ones. Pay attention to always lengthen each cable separate from each one other.
