5.3.1 Select # Active Channels and Relays
The ‘Select Active Channels and Relays’ screen is used to set the active number of input channels and relay
output channels for which the 1600/6400 is currently programmed. The 1600 has a maximum of 16 active
input channels and the 6400 has a maximum of 64 active input channels. This number must be consistent with
the number of sensors and I/O modules connected to the system. Activating more channels or relays than can
be attached to the I/O Modules installed will cause a “Communication Fault”, and should not be attempted. It
is possible, however, to activate fewer channels or relays than can be attached to the I/O Modules installed.

gas channels and relay outputs have been made.
5.3.2 Modbus™ Addressing and Relay Type
Addressing Gas Channels with DA-4 Modules
This function is used to identify the “device”, “address”, and “Zone” of gas inputs. Each gas channel will need
to have the Channel #, Device, Address, and Zone set. The Channel # is for the gas sensor selected to be
called CH# (as determined by customer). The Device entry is the rotary switch setting identification on the
Model DA4 input module to which the gas sensor inputs will be wired. The Address is the wiring position on
the Model DA4 input module to which the gas sensor is wired. There are four sensor inputs for each DA4
module, labeled 1 – 4. The Zone defines what group of channels will be displayed per screen.
