released, the LED will stay on almost continuously, indicating the temperature data is
being recorded. If the LED reverts to flashing every 5 seconds, data is not being
recorded and the Data Shuttle must be re-triggered as discussed in the previous
paragraph. When the Shuttle is disconnected from the controller the LED will flash
every two seconds. Pressing the START button again will not affect the operation of the
Data Shuttle.

8 Download Settings from a Farm Hand Controller

Settings from one Farm Hand controller can be
downloaded to the Data Shuttle and subsequently
uploaded to another Farm Hand controller of the same
type. The Data Shuttle can store settings of all the Farm
Hand controllers at the same time.

8.1 Programming the Data Shuttle

No special programming is required for the Data Shuttle
to load controller settings, however, for this feature to
work properly, the Shuttle must NOT be programmed to
record temperature data and must NOT have been
triggered.

8.2 Triggering the Data Shuttle

Before the Data Shuttle is connected to a controller, the Data Shuttle LED will flash
once every five seconds to indicate satisfactory operation When the Shuttle is first
connected to the controller, the LED will turn ON for about a second, then OFF as
shown in Figure 1. This pattern will be repeated every five seconds until the Data
Shuttle is triggered.

To trigger the Data Shuttle and begin to download the controller settings, press the
START button and hold for at least four (4) seconds. While the START button is
depressed the LED
will flash once every
second. The user can
count these flashes to
ensure that at least
four seconds have
passed.

When the button is
released, the LED will
turn ON for a period
that may vary from a
second to 6 seconds
depending on the
controller type. During

time the

settings are being
downloaded. The LED will then turn OFF for a second and then back ON for 1 second. The
second ON time is very important since it indicates the Data Shuttle is verifying the controller
settings. Next, the LED will turn on once every five seconds as illustrated in Figure 1.
