6.1 Installing PC side of Wireless HH.Net.
Step 1. Mount the 900SS Radio to where it has the best line of site to the other 900SS Radios. Use appropriate
mounting hardware for wood, masonry or other material. If the PC is further than 20 feet, use HHI
Router/Repeater Part Number 6407-5110. The following photos show some typical 900SS mounting locations.
Step 2. Wire the serial cable to the RS232 HH.Net
connection on the 900SS Module as seen at the right.
Use a twisted pair wire with minimum size 22 AWG.
The maximum distance is 20 feet. The power supply
and data cable may be run in same jacket.
Step 3. Connect the DC Power to the 900SS Module
using a wall-mount power supply as shown at the right.
Step 4.
Plug the transformer into the outlet and
connect the serial cable to the PC.
Step 5. At this point you will want to start the
Wireless Tuning software. See Section 7.
Step 6. If you are not using Tuning Software, go
ahead and start the Farm Manager Software. As the
software searches for controllers, the Status LED on
the 900SS should start flashing.
TIP: Leave the software running. This will give
you a way to check the control side of the network.
When the control side is connected, the Status LED
will flash Orange showing that it has a signal. It will
not guarantee that you are getting a good signal.
NOTE: On the Farm Manager Software in the
General Settings, set Network Setting to HH
