Replacing the Battery
NOTE:
z The product design allows you to change the battery with the PS-B unit either on
or off. In some countries, safety regulations do not allow you to change batteries
while the unit is on.
z Previous settings will be restored when changing the battery with the power
turned off (as the settings are stored in non-volatile EEPROM). However, the date
and time must be reset bacause this data is lost when changing the battery.
z Only qualified personnel can change the battery.

Read and understand the safety information in the Regular Cleaning and
Maintenance section (see page 125) before attempting this procedure.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.

EXPLOSION, FIRE, OR CHEMICAL HAZARD
z Replace battery with identical type.
z Follow all battery manufacturer’s instructions.
z Do not recharge, disassemble, heat above 100
°C (212 °F), or incinerate.
z Use your hands or insulated tools to remove or replace the battery.
z Maintain proper polarity when inserting and connecting a new battery.
z Remove all replaceable batteries before discarding the PS-B unit.
z Recycle or properly dispose of used batteries.
