9.21 Transducer Encoder Filter Setting
In a typical 1 second timing record, the CT-6500 records 20,000 data points for each of the
Contact channels (C1-C6), Digital transducer channels (D1-D3), Voltage input channels (V1 &
V2), CT channel, DCR channel, Resistor transducer channel and Initiate current channel.
In most circuit breaker timing application, the breaker activities end after 200 ms. A
common problem found in the field was the CT-6500 recorded erroneous data on the
transducer channels (after breaker activities ended) due to vibration. The erroneous data is
probably due to the transducer not being secured to the mounting plate properly or a poor
linkage problem between the transducer and the circuit breaker mechanism.
The Transducer Encoder Filter setting allows the user to stop recording the transducer
channel data after a specific window. This feature allows the user to filter out the unwanted
motion picked up by the transducer after the breaker activities have ended.
The following procedure allows the user to stop recording transducer data after 200ms.

Note
The Transducer Encoder Filter setting is default to “No Filter” when the CT-6500 is
powered
on.
The filter setting is available from 10 ms to 999 ms.
A setting of 200 ms requires the user to enter 200 in the “FILTER TIME”. This
setting makes the CT-6500 not to record any Transducer Encoder data after 200 ms.
