7.8 Display and Voice Controls Screen:

The two voice control sections in this screen are for future development
and have not been activated at this time.

The Backlight Setup section of this screen allows you to set the Dim and
Bright levels of the CGR-30P display to any control input voltage. The
intent is to match the CGR-30P’s intensity to your aircraft’s current
backlight intensity of other instruments in the panel. To setup the CGR-
30P backlight follow the steps listed below. If a dedicated dimming
control pot is required for the CGR-30P, order Electronics
International’s CP-1.

1. The Control Voltage (Vin) from the aircraft’s dimming control
pot is displayed at the bottom of the screen. Adjust the dimming
control pot on the aircraft from dim to bright and check that the
Vin field changes a minimum of 2-volt. The Vin value can increase or decrease as the knob is turned from
full dim to full bright.

2. With the aircraft engine off, set the aircraft’s dimming control knob to full dim and then rotate it 1/8 turn
towards bright. Set the “DIM” field to “SET” and push the CGR’s Select Knob.

3. Set the aircraft’s dimming control knob to full bright and then rotate it 1/8 turn towards dim. Set the
“BRIGHT” field to “SET” and push the CGR’s Select Knob. Exit all fields and check that the CGR-30P
dimming operates properly.

To set the CGR-30P dimming operation to your preference you may have to perform this procedure with different
dimming control settings. Note: When the engine is running, the alternator will increase the bus voltage which may
slightly change the backlight intensity. The above procedure should compensate for this.

7.9 CGR Input/Output Tests Screen:

The fields in this screen operate as follows:

Four GPS Data Fields - If the CGR-30P is connected to your GPS, the top portion of this screen pro-
vides the current GPS data received by the CGR-30P.

Caution and Warning Lights Fields - The Caution and Warning Light fields turn on and off the external
caution and warning lights.

USB 5v Control Field – This field turns on and off the 5-volts to the USB. Warning – The USB port
must not be used as a charger or to provide power to any other device except a USB Data Stick.
