Displaying estimated fuel in each tank:
Advantages -
The CGR-30P displays the estimate of the fuel
level for each fuel tank.
Disadvantages - If the engine can feed from one fuel tank and
return fuel to another fuel tank, a second fuel flow transducer
must be installed in the fuel return line.
- Each time you switch fuel tanks you must switch tanks in the
CGR-30P. If you forget, the fuel remaining for all the tanks will
be inaccurate.
- When fuel is added to the aircraft’s fuel tank, each tank in the
CGR-30P must be updated.
The columns in the Fuel Tank Setup Screen provide the following data:
Tank Name – This field allows you to name the fuel tanks. If only the total fuel on-board is to be dis-
played, use the name “TOTAL.”
TP – Enter the fuel tank type: F = Feeds the engine, X = Transfers fuel to another tank.
Full Amt – Enter the full fuel level. This will be used as a pre-select amount.
Tab Amt – If for some flights you only partially fill the tank, enter partial fuel level. This will also be used as
a pre-select amount.
Warn Amt – Enter the low fuel level used to activate the low fuel warning.
Return/Xfer-To – If this tank feeds the engine and does not have a fuel return (or returns fuel to itself),
place the Tank Name in this field. If this tank only transfers fuel to another tank (does not feed the engine),
place the Tank Name to which the fuel will be transferred in this field. As you add tanks to this screen they
will show up in the “Return/Xfer-To” field.
At the bottom of the screen are the following fields:
Flow Rate Units – Fuel flow is received in US Gal/Hr. This field allows you to modify the displayed fuel
flow value to other units. The value will change but the units will not. The display units can be changed in
the “Function Configuration” screen.
Fuel Weight in US Pounds – This field sets the weight of the fuel which is used for calculating fuel flow in
various units.
Min Fuel Used For K-Factor – The K-Factor (used to calibrate the Fuel Flow) should not be calculated
for short flights. This field sets the minimum fuel that must be used before the “Auto Adj K-Factor” feature
can be used.
