Power Management - 4
As the Standard Display is normally battery powered, the user will have the
concern of reliable measurement over a long period of time. The Standard
Display has several smart power management functions to extend the
battery life time significantly. Two of these functions can be set:
POWER MANAGEMENT; LCD UPDATE - SETUP LEVEL 41:
The calculation of the display-up-date time influences the power
consumption significantly. When the application does not require a fast
display update, we advise you to select a slow refresh-rate. Please
understand that NO information will be lost; every pulse will be counted
and the output-signals are not influenced. The following can be selected:
Fast - 1 sec - 3 sec - 15 sec - 30 sec - off.
Please note that - after a button is pressed by the operator - the display
refresh-rate will be FAST during the initial 30 seconds period. When off is
selected, the display will be switched off after 30 seconds and will be
switched on again as soon as any button has been pressed.Power
Management; Battery Mode - 42:
The unit has two modes: operational or shelf. When shelf is selected, you
can store the unit for several years; it will not count pulses, the display is
switched off but all setting are stored. In this mode, power consumption is
extremely low. Normally, the mode will be operational.
Flowmeter - 5
FLOWMETER; SIGNAL - SETUP LEVEL 51:
The Standard Display is able to handle several types of signals. The type of
flowmeter pickup / signal is selected in software with SETUP 51.
Note: NPN (Hall Effect Sensors) requires an external power supply, contact your local
distributor if you are considering using these style of sensor. To maximize battery life
it is recommended that Reed_lp be used.
OTHERS; TYPE OF MODEL - SETUP LEVEL 61:
For support and maintenance it is important to have information about the
characteristics of the Standard Display. Your supplier will ask for this
information in the case of a serious breakdown or to assess the suitability
of your model for upgrade considerations.
