Harley-Davidson® FLHT

FLTR Road Glide1997-2007

Two-Piece Seat

Hardware:

• Stock Rear Fender Screw
• 1997-1998: Two Black Flat Nylon Washers (Included); Mustang Part

#78028 (Not Included) or Stock H-D

• 1999-2007: Two Black Nylon Shoulder Washers (Included); Mustang

Part #78032 (Not Included) or Stock H-D

• One Nylon Washer (Included)

Baseplate Features:
Built on 16 gauge formed steel baseplates. Solos have

a single nose clip and two chrome mounting tabs that
align with the fender inserts. Passenger seats have two

slots in the baseplate and a chrome tab for mounting.

Removal of Stock One-Piece Seat

1. Remove rear fender screw.

2. Slide seat back and up to remove.

Mounting of Mustang Solo

1. Engage nose of seat, pushing seat as far forward as possible so that the mounting holes/studs in the

fender are in the middle to back edge of the slotted tabs.

2. A firm downward chop to the nose of the seat will push the seat closer to the dash.

3. Seat is spring loaded for a tight fit so the mounting tabs will be approximately 1"-1 1/2" above the

fender.

4. The supplied nylon washers go between the mounting tabs and the fender.

5. Start one mounting bolt/nut to finger tight and then do second, secure both.

6. 1997-1998 models require that the black retention clip must be left in place to hold the nut insert in

1997-1998 models require seat mounting bolts (Mustang part #78028) or stock Harley-Davidson®.

7. 1999-2007 models: the studs in the fender have some movement to help with lining up the tabs.

1999-2007 models: require Road King seat mounting nuts (Mustang part #78032 or stock H-D).
