The next illustration shows the logical connection of a sample Xsan volume, which is made of two LUNs
- one RAID 1 for Metadata and one RAID 5 for user data, from the ExaSAN RAID.
6.6.7.1 Checking LUNs from the Xsan Admin
Before labeling LUNs, verify that the “Parallel SCSI” pane shows two LUNs, then, start Xsan Admin
from MDC and check to see if these two LUNs are there.
If you cannot see the ExaSAN LUNs in the Xsan Admin, please use the following terminal commands
to
label these LUNs first:
Issue the following command in the Terminal to create a temporary file containing the configuration
information for the LUN:
When you finish typing in the data, press Control-D on the keyboard.
6.6.7.2 Labeling LUNs
Right-click on the smaller LUN, the options menu displays, select “Change LUN label.”
