4. Turn on host systems one by one. If you have a designated MDC in your system configuration, turn it

on first and wait for it to become ready. Subsequently, turn all other clients on, one after another in
arbitrary order. If you do not have a designated MDC, turn all clients on one after another in arbitrary
order.

3.2.2 Powering Off

If you need to power off the entire system, such as in the cases of switch or RAID system firmware
updates, adding a RAID system or client computer, power off in the reverse order of Powering On. If you
have a designated MDC, first turn off all clients one after another in arbitrary order; next turn off your
designated MDC and wait for it to go completely off, next turn off your switch, then turn off your RAID
system(s) one after another in arbitrary order. If you do not have a designated MDC, simply turn off all
clients in arbitrary order, followed by the switch and the RAID system(s).
