To simplify system administration, ExaSAN includes embedded management functions for storage
monitoring, RAID and LUN (Logical Unit Number) configuration, provisioning, and data protection
functions that are accessed through a Java-based, graphical user interface. ExaSAN supports operation
with or without popular SAN management software such as Apple Xsan and provides client support for
Mac OSX, Windows, and Linux.
The ExaSAN Compact solution to workgroup storage needs is fast, scalable, and cost-effective.
4.2 Switch GUI
The ExaSAN switch has a browser-based built-in GUI (Graphical User Interface) for managing the switch
and special-purpose function such as LUN Masking application.
4.2.1 Accessing the Switch GUI
You may use either the FireFox or Safari browser to access the switch GUI. We recommend that you use
FireFox.
1. Launch the browser of your choice.
2. Make sure that our private Ethernet network is connected.
3. Go to IP address 192.168.0.1.
4. The GUI’s home page displays, from the lower-left to top-right, center and then lower-right, you will
find the following user interface:
a. View Mode (lower-left): this is an informational item to let you know which switch mode
you are currently in.
b. Switch Mode button (top-right, four buttons, first button from the left): you may toggle
between “Config Mode” and “View Mode” by clicking this button. When in View Mode,
this icon shows a “ranch” image for you to switch to Config Mode. When in Config
Mode, this icon shows an “eye” image for you to switch to View Mode.
c. Logout button (top-right, four buttons, second button from the left): click this button to
log out of the main menu. This icon shows a “door” image.
