Connecting to a PBX

A PBX (Private Branch Exchange) is a private telephone
system used to route internal calls. If you have to dial a prefix
(access) number to get an outside line, then your line is
connected to a PBX.

To connect your MFP to a PBX, follow the instructions
below. These settings allow your MFP to identify your PBX’s
access digit at the beginning of phone numbers you dial or
program, and automatically wait for a dial tone before dialing
the rest of the number.

!

Some PBX installations may require additional
adjustments to your MFP. If you have difficulty with fax
communication after following these steps, contact
Okidata.
