2. Faxing
Placing Originals
Place the originals on the exposure
glass or the Auto Document Feeder
(ADF) in the proper way according to
the type of paper shown in the dia-
gram.
For details about original types and
how to set original sizes, see Copy Ref-
erence. You cannot use [Special Original ]
under Copy Function. See “Placing
Originals”, Copy Reference.
Note that original sizes that can be au-
tomatically detected differ slightly to
those sizes listed in “Sizes Detectable
by Auto Paper Select”, Copy Reference.

❒ When you place originals as shown
in the above illustrations, the fax
header on received faxes is printed
in the following positions.
• *1 On the top of the fax
• *2 On the left side of the fax

❒ If you place A5 size originals on
the exposure glass, they are not de-
tected. Place A5 size originals into
