Serial Attachment (Models 4I3 and 5I3)
The 4230 attaches to a host or controller by one of two serial
interfaces, RS-232C or RS-422A. A single 25-pin D connector
mounted directly on the adapter card allows attachment to either
interface.
The RS-232C interface uses a standard serial cable up to 15.2 m (50
ft) in length with transmission rates up to 19.2 Kbps.
The RS-422A interface uses a serial cable up to 1219 m (4,000 ft) in
length with transmission rates up to 38.4 Kbps.
