The front display panel shows the programme start time.

Press PDC to select “ON” or “OFF”.

● If “VPS/PDC ON” is displayed on the TV screen or “VPS/PDC”

is lit on the front display panel, PDC is set to ON.

● If “VPS/PDC OFF” is displayed on the TV screen or “VPS/PDC”

is not lit on the front display panel, PDC is set to OFF.

“PDC Recording” on page 39.

● VPS (Video Programme System) recording is not currently

available in the U.K. and not possible with this recorder.

Return to the normal screen.

Press PROG or OK. “PROGRAM COMPLETED” appears
on the TV screen for about 5 seconds, then the normal
screen appears. If “PROGRAM OVERLAPPED” appears
on the TV screen and “Err” on the front display panel, see
page 43.

● Repeat steps 310 for each additional programme.

Engage the recorder’s timer mode.

NOTES:

To Change The Stop Time . . .

. . . press STOP +/– in step 7. You can compensate for
anticipated programme schedule delays.

To Timer-Record Weekly Or Daily Serials . . .

. . . in step 7, press WEEKLY (number key9”) for weekly
serials or DAILY (number key8”) for daily serials (Monday —
Friday). Either “WEEKLY” or “DAILY” appears on the TV
screen. Pressing the button again makes the corresponding
indication disappear.

You can programme each deck to timer-record as many as 6

programmes. If you try to programme the recorder to record a
seventh, “PROGRAM FULL” appears on the TV screen and
“FULL” appears on the front display panel. To record the extra
programme, you must first cancel any unnecessary
programmes (

pg. 42).

It is not possible to timer-record a TV programme with a

PlusCode number which starts with “0”.

It is not possible to timer-record a satellite broadcast received

on the channel position “0” by the satellite receiver.

It is not possible to timer-record the same programme on both

the VHS deck and the DV deck simultaneously.

During timer recording, it is not possible to change the

recording deck (VHS or DV).

If the times that are programmed for recording on the DV deck

and on the VHS deck overlap, the earlier start time takes
precedence. If the start times are the same, the VHS deck
takes precedence.

The PlusCode number you
entered and the matching
timer-recording information
are displayed on the TV
screen. Check they are
correct.

IMPORTANT

Make sure the channel position number you wish to record is
displayed; if not, see “VIDEO Plus+

®

System Setup” on

page 82 and set the Guide Program number correctly.

Satellite Receiver Users

To timer-record a satellite broadcast using the VIDEO Plus+
system:

A Perform “Satellite Receiver Control Setting” on page 17.

B Perform steps 111. In step 7, the front display panel

shows “L2” for the channel position. In step 9, you cannot
set “PDC” to “ON”.

C Leave the satellite receiver’s power on.

INFORMATION

Instead of the steps 4 6, you can enter the PlusCode
number using the on-screen menu.

A Press PROG to access the PlusCode screen.

B Press the number keys to

enter the PlusCode number
of a programme you wish to
record.

● If you make a mistake,

press

&

and input the

correct number.

C Press OK, then go to step 7

in the left column.

● If the number you entered

is invalid, “ERROR” appears on the TV screen and “Err”
appears on the front display panel. Input a valid
PlusCode number.

● If the “GUIDE PROG SET” screen appears, see

“ATTENTION” below.

ATTENTION

Guide Program Number Set

“GUIDE PROG SET” appears after performing step

if the Guide Program number for the PlusCode number you
entered has not been set.
If you want to set the Guide Program number for the satellite
broadcast station, press the number key0” to change “TV
PROG” to “SAT”. Press

number on which your recorder or satellite receiver receives
that station, then press OK or

to set the Guide Program

number. The VIDEO Plus+ Program screen appears.
