6.2.2.5 Setting Up an AS/400 Systems to Use lpd
When working with the output queue description (WORKOUTQD),
there are several fields that must be defined for the NIC to function
properly as a remote printer device.
When prompted for the remote system, type
INTNETADR
so the
AS/400 recognizes the device as an IP device.

PORT1
13. Connection type must be IP.
14. Internet address must be the IP address of the NIC.
15. Destination type must be OTHER.
16. When prompted for transforming SCS to ASCII, type
YES
to
allow the AS/400 do the character translation.
17. Manufacturer type and model must be the print driver that goes
with your printer.

ALPHA Remote Printer
Set up a remote printer on the host that sends jobs to a NIC.

At the prompt, type:
