Audio Setup
Audio Out
The digital audio output jacks (labeled
“Coaxial” and “Optical”) are used to output
the audio signal recorded on DVD discs to
an external digital amplifi er/receiver. Use the
Audio Out setting to specify the format of the
digital signal from these jacks.

• SPDIF/OFF - Select if you are not using
the digital audio output.
• SPDIF/RAW - Select if the player is
connected to a 5.1 channel amplifi er/
receiver with a Dolby Digital decoder.
• SPDIF/PCM - Select if the player
is connected to a 2 channel digital
amplifi er.

SETUP or select “EXIT SETUP” to
exit the menu system.
WARNING:
• Do not set “AUDIO OUT” to “SPDIF/
RAW” unless you are connecting the
player to an amplifi er/receiver with Dolby
Digital (AC-3) decoding capability.
• High volume sound may damage your
hearing as well as the speakers.
Digital Setup
Dynamic Range
You can compress the dynamic range (the
difference between the quietest and loudest
passages) of a DVD soundtrack.
