Setting the Light Metering Range to Determine the Exposure (AE Metering)

Multi segment

The exposure is determined by the entire screen.

Centre-weighted The exposure is determined mainly by the centre of the screen.

Spot

The exposure is determined by the middle of the screen only.

Select [AE Metering] on the [Rec.Mode] menu.

Use the four-way controller (

) to change the meter-

ing mode.

Press the OK button.
The camera is ready to take the picture.

range will change as you move the autofocus area.

You can change the range and position of the autofocus area.

You can change the position of the autofocus area.

Select [Focusing Area] on the [Rec.Mode] menu.

The Focusing Area screen will be
displayed.

At certain autofocus areas, the focus frame may overlap the mode or other icons
and become unclear. In such a case, turn off the DISPLAY mode. (See page 30.)
If you have changed an autofocus area, you can not check the location through the
viewfinder. Take pictures checking the location on the LCD monitor.
