In the case of “Extended Discharge”, another value will be displayed:

The “Planned extended discharge rate” value will also be displayed

The entered value represents the planned extended discharge rate for the existing system. The
value can be found from the fire suppression system’s specification sheet. For an Extended
Discharge situation to pass, the “Planned extended discharge rate” must be greater than the
calculated “Required extended discharge rate” in the results section. The required rate is
calculated based on how much leakage is entered for the enclosure.

“Specified hold time”
The required Hold time for a passing test, also known as the “hold time”. For compliance
with ISO 14520 a value of at least 10 minutes must be entered, unless a variance is approved
by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
