Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Scanner operation problems
Problems you may have while using the scanner often involve the
operation of your software and computer. Operation problems
usually occur because of:
❏ Incorrect setup of the interface
(See “Setting Up the Scanner” on page 2-1 of the online Setup
Guide.)
❏ Incorrect setup of your computer or software
(See the online Setup Guide.)
❏ Incorrect operation of your software
(See “Understanding EPSON TWAIN Pro Features” on page
2-1 and “Optimizing Scanning” on page 1-1 in this guide. Also
see Chapter 4 of the online Setup Guide, “Using Your Scanner”
on page 4-1.)
Also see the documentation that came with your computer and
printer for possible solutions.
The READY light does not come on.
❏ Press the
P operate button to turn on the scanner.
❏ Make sure the power cord is connected to the scanner and is
plugged into a power outlet.
The scanner does not scan.
❏ Wait until the
READY
light stops flashing and remains on
(ready for scanning).
❏ Make sure your interface port and software settings are
correct. Also make sure that your computer’s interface board
is installed properly.
