The location of the “MIDI Control” switch
Next is the “MIDI” control option. The Envelope always starts with the Note
On event, when the Note is being hit. Usually the Envelope runs through all
phases until it stops at Sustain-level. It only goes to its Release phase with
the Note Off event, when you released the key. With this option however
you can however switch the Envelope to kind of “Free Run” mode, where
the Envelope not reacts when the Note goes Off, it always runs though in
one go (not stopping at Sustain level but right going to the Release). This is
often useful for percussive sounds.
On the top right you find the Tool Menu as described in the Tool Menu info
box on page 15.
Envelope Parameters
Attack
The Attack dial determines the time it takes for the envelope to reach its
maximum value. The range is 0 millisecond to 15 seconds.
If used for Volume, it means that the Envelope takes so long to reach the
maximum Amplitude, for the Filters it takes so long to reach maximum
Frequency (or minimum Frequency when Envelope Depth is inverted, more
about this in the Filter description on page 24).
