Connect loudspeakers
Using the cables enclosed with the
loudspeakers*, connect the speakers to the
BeoSystem 1 rear connection panel. The front,
center and rear sets of loudspeakers must be
from the Bang & Olufsen range of Power Link
speakers. However, you are not restricted to
the speaker models shown in the illustration.
For more information concerning sockets on
BeoSystem 1, please refer to Connection
panels on BeoSystem 1.
> Connect the two front loudspeakers to the
sockets marked FRONT.
> Connect the two rear loudspeakers to the
sockets marked REAR.
> Connect both centre speakers to the socket
marked CENTRE in the following manner:
Connect one loudspeaker to its counterpart, and
connect the second loudspeaker to the CENTRE
socket on BeoSystem 1. You can also use this
looping method when connecting your front or
rear loudspeakers. Refer to the guide enclosed
with your speakers for more information about
‘looping’ your loudspeakers.
> You can connect a subwoofer to the socket
marked SUBWOOFER.
Regardless of which method you use when
connecting your speakers, remember to set the
L • R • LINE switch on the speakers to L and R (left
and right channel), respectively.

Select your loudspeaker types…
> Press MENU on Beo4 to call up the main TV
SETUP menu.
> Press GO to select SOUND.
> Press 2 to select the SPEAKER TYPE menu.
> Press ▼ and ▲ to step between the different
speaker options.
> Press ss or tt to select the type of speakers you
have connected.
> Press GO when you have selected your
loudspeaker types and press EXIT to leave
on-screen menus altogether.
Options on the SPEAKER TYPE menu
FRONT
Select the type of front speakers you have
connected: BEOLAB 1, BEOLAB 4000, 6000 or
8000, BEOLAB PENTA, or NONE.
REAR
Select the type of rear speakers you have
connected: BEOLAB 1, BEOLAB 4000, 6000 or
8000, BEOLAB PENTA, or NONE.
SUBWOOFER
Select whether or not a subwoofer is connected.
Options are YES or NO.
Please note that it is not necessary to register
centre loudspeakers in the SPEAKER TYPE menu.
*NOTE! Longer cables and adaptors – should
these be necessary for connecting equipment to
BeoSystem 1 – are available from your Bang &
Olufsen retailer.
