5.6 PEF

Management

Platform Event Filtering (PEF) provides a mechanism for configuring the IPMI service to take selected actions
(defined as Event Filter Action) on a generated event. These actions include operations such as system power-off,
system reset, as well as triggering an alert. The BMC scans all entries in the table and collects a set of actions to be
performed as determined by the entries that were matched. Note that Event Filtering function is independent of
Event Logging.

3 management tasks on the specified event can be configured through PEF: Event Filter, Alert Policy, and LAN
Destination. To access them, click their tabs.
