Appendix 1. ACGC Replacement Proposal
In conventional systems where ACGC + a dedicated PCLINK port is used, it was possible to perform link data
read/write and MEMOBUS message transmission directly from the ACGC. In order to achieve this, a proposal where
an MP controller + a display device made by another company (such as GP manufactured by Digital Device
Corporation) is possible. The MP controller becomes a link data collection device, placed between the display device
and the PCLINK network, and the link data is accumulated in a holding register that can be referenced from the outside.
By performing holding register reading and writing to the MP controller from the display device via Ethernet, input and
output of the link data on the PCLINK transmission path are performed. The MP controller needs only a message
reception function performing Ethernet communication and a simple program performing transfer between the I/O
registers.
In addition, with regard to MEMOBUS messaging, the MEMOBUS commands sent from the monitoring device can
be directly sent to other stations on the PCLINK network according to the counterpart MEMOBUS format station
number by directly connecting to the serial port of the PCLINK-01 module from the display device. At this time, no MP
controller program is required.
