4.2 Message
Transmission
The message transmission function is capable of sending and receiving user programs and is of two types,
MEMOBUS messages and general-purpose messages (non-procedural). A functional outline is shown below.
4.2.1 MEMOBUS
Messages
Message transmission using the MEMOBUS protocol is performed between the stations connected on the PCLINK
network. To perform message transmission as the master, use the MSG-SND function, and to receive the message as
a slave, use the MSG-RCV function (the MSG-RCV function operates up to command reception and the
accompanying response transmission). There are four message channels for MEMOBUS messaging (used together
with general-purpose messages). Master/slave selection is possible for each channel (the MSG-SND function channel
is the master, and the MSG-RCV function channel is the slave). Four message transmissions are possible at the same
time.
