CONTROL AND PARTS FUNCTIONS

Front and Rear Brakes

The brake fluid in the master cyl-

inder, which is located on the left

handlebar, should be checked

before each ride. The fluid level

can be seen through the plastic

reservoir (1), and should be

maintained between the indi-

cated max (2) and min (3) marks

on the reservoir. On some mod-

els, there is an indicator window

(4) on the top of the master cylin-

der. This “eye” will appear dark

when the fluid level is full. When

fluid needs to be added, the eye

will be clear. NOTE:

When

checking the fluid level, the ATV

must be on level ground the the handlebars straight. If the fluid lev-

el is low add DOT 3 (PN 2870990) only.

The Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) stops the engine in

the event of a throttle system malfunction and is provided

for your safety. Do not attempt to modify the ETC system

or replace it with any after market throttle mechanisms.

Once a bottle of brake fluid is opened, use what is necessary

and discard the rest. Do not store or use a partial bottle of

brake fluid. Brake fluid is hygroscopic, meaning it rapidly ab-

sorbs moisture from the air. This causes the boiling tempera-

ture of the brake fluid to drop, which can lead to early brake

fade and the possibility of severe injury.
