Recording a Black Clip File
In order to archive clips, you need to create a file called “
BLACK
” that contains
black video. You can record the file in two ways—using NewsEdit or the
M-Series iVDR.
Using NewsEdit
1. Create a new sequence named
BLACK
.
2. Right-click in the Timeline and select
Insert Filler
, enter a 10 second
duration, and click
OK
.
3. Save and close the file.
4. Send the file to the default bin of your playout server.
Using the M-Series iVDR
1. Pull the input source on R1 input (make sure you don’t have a video feed on
R1).
2. Click
New Clip
and name it
BLACK
.
3. Press the Record button and record for approximately 10 seconds.
4. Press the Stop button.
5. Eject
BLACK
from the record channel.
NOTE: The file
BLACK
needs to be in the bin used for playout of
clips (normally V:/default bin) in order to work properly.
