Editing and NewsQ Pro
News editors use the Assignment List Manager (ALM) component of NewsQ
Pro to receive assignments from the producer and return completed
assignments.
The Assignment List Manager runs on the computer with the NewsEdit editing
system. Editors create clips and sequences in NewsEdit as usual and send them
to a Media Server. A playlist is received from the NCS or a playback operator
uses the clips in NewsQ Pro to create a playlist, and then controls the playback
of clips to air.
This chapter is written for news editors and discusses how to use the
Assignment List Manager to:
• Receive assignments from your producer
• Link a sequence with a NewsQ Pro placeholder
• Send completed sequences to a Media Server
• Create new clip placeholders
• Change clip assignments
• Update clips
