Using Additional Features of the Trimmer
In addition to basic trimming, there are other features of NewsQ that you can
use.
Using Handles to Add Frames to Your Clips
If the clips you are using include handles, you have additional frames to choose
from when trimming.
To use handles:
1. Click the Add Handles button in the Trimmer window.
The handles appear as additional frames on the slider in the Trimmer.
2. Mark new In and Out points for your clip using the additional material.
NOTE: If the Add Handles button is grayed out, it means that no
additional handle material is available for this clip.
Locking the Duration of a Clip
Sometimes you need to maintain the length of the clip, but still need to trim it.
Using the Lock Duration feature, you can keep the exact length of the clip intact
while trimming. NewsQ uses the extra frames in the handles and adjusts the
clip. For instance, if you move the Mark In point 5 frames from the beginning
of the clip, the Mark Out point moves automatically 5 frames to keep the
duration time intact.
To lock the duration of a clip:
1. Click the Lock Duration button in the Trim tool.
2. Trim your clip as usual.
