7 Troubleshooting
Note: Direct any questions you may have concerning our equipment to our office.
7-1 If the Unit Fails to Operate
; Check fuse.
; Check main power.
7-2 If the Unit Stops Intermittently
; Check for loose connection.
; Check the motor speed control.
; Check the proximity switch on the extruder screw to ensure it is reading the
screw turns consistently.
7-3 If the Unit is Inaccurate
; Check auger drive motor pickup in Diagnostics.
; Check weigh hopper for binding or overfill.
; Check air cylinder in reload hopper (if applicable).
; Check auger for stalling. This will indicate a bent auger, bad gearbox, or drive
control.
; Check the A/D load cell in Diagnostics to ensure that the load cell is not
damaged and is linear. Linearity can be checked by adding several weights of
the same weight to the weigh hopper and checking to see that the A/D number
changes the same for each weight (AEC recommends using large washers of the
same size). If the A/D number is varying quite a bit, it will indicate that the load
cell has been sprung or overloaded. It will have to be replaced.
CAUTION!
Use care when cleaning the unit, or it can become damaged.
DO NOT PULL ON THE WEIGH HOPPER!
