6.7.38. Function 49 - Balance set-up
The balance set-up is controlled by use of function 49, which provides the possibility to connect
MC12 to an electronic balance. The balance which can be used are Mettler® and Sartorius®.
Furthermore it is possible to choose between dynamic calibration and direct filling on balance.
Press: <4>+<9>+
The display now shows the line: “BALANCE: MODE(1)/SETUP(2)”
Select either 0 to return to the main menu, 1 for choose of mode for balance operation, or 2 for
set-up of balance interface.
Set-up (2) (NOT Active on Trolleys)
If set-up of interface is selected by entering: <2> +
The command line displays: “METTLER (1)/SARTORIUS (2)”
According to the connected balance, select Mettler by pressing <1>+
pressing <2>+
RS232 port that is used as scale interface by displaying: “ENTER PORT NO.:”
Port no. 2 (RS-232/2 on the rear panel of the MC12) is default, and the MC12 suggests this port.

NB: to use port 1 you must first disconnect the printer set-up from port 1 by either disconnecting the
printer set-up by selecting port number 0 in function 47 or by selecting port number 2 as printer port in
function 47.

Here the choices are (by pressing the number followed by ENT):
0: Disconnects the balance set-up
1: Dynamic recalibration
2: Filling (or dispensing) interactively with balance (NOT Active on Trolleys)
