Exhaust air connection

d

Safety Information

-

It is recommended that exhaust air

is conducted directly into the open

air through an exhaust air duct.

-

A nonĆreturn valve must be fitted

in order to ensure that exhaust air

is conducted directly into the open

air (so that air is prevented from

flowing back)

-

The exhaust air system should only

be installed as described in these

instructions.

-

The stated pressure losses must

not be exceeded.

-

Use only parts and materials

mentioned in the instructions.

-

The exhaust air duct should be

cleaned regularly, at least once

a year.

-

Shift the exhaust air such, so that

the dryer cannot draw the damp

air which is blown out, back in

again.

-

Design and/or shift the exhaust

air duct such, so that there is no

possibility of additional counterĆ

pressure (e.g. through direct

incidental wind) arising for the

exhaust air which flows out.

When the dryer is operated without

an exhaust air duct, pay attention to

the following:
-

Make sure there is good room

ventilation → risk of damage

caused by moisture. e.g. to walls,

furniture.

-

Do not obstruct the exhaust air

vent (free space around exhaust

air vent of approx. 1 m).

-

Remove any lint accumulation

around the dryer.

The Kleenmaid dryers are intended to

be vented outdoors. To prevent

buildĆup of moisture and accumulation

of lint indoors, as well as to maintain

maxiĆ mum drying efficiency, it is

recomĆ mended that the dryer is vented

outdoors.

Be sure to observe the following

if connecting via a wall box in

a chimney or ventilation shaft:
-

You should not connect the

exhaust air outlet to chimneys

where gasĆfired or coalĆfired ovens

and/or cookers or gasĆfired

heating is connected,

-

When connecting to a dampĆproof

ventilation shaft, inform the apĆ

propriate chimney sweep and/or

obtain permission from the local

planning office/owner

-

If additional appliances are operated

in the room where the dryer is set

up or in neighbouring rooms, such

as gas heaters, gasĆfired instant

water heaters, coalĆfired ovens with

a chimney connection or open

fireplaces, a subĆpressure can arise

which leads to the effect of gases

being drawn back →

risk of intoxication.

-

In every event, confirm with the

appropriate chimney sweep that

the installation is safe to operate!
