upper gingivobuccal fold and hygienically disposed of
with the paper towel.
Note
– OptraDam Plus is for single patient use only.
– In patients with impeded nose respiration or if suction
is desired, a hole may be cut into the latex bag in the
palatal region using scissors.
– OptraDam Plus contains natural rubber latex
which may cause allergic reactions.
– In general, it is possible to take X-ray images with
OptraDam Plus in place if sufficiently rubber material is
available intraorally – if necessary, pull in more of the
latex material.
– If an anaesthetic has to be administered again,
OptraDam Plus can be easily removed.

Beschreibung
Der OptraDam
® Plus ist ein anatomisch ausgeformter Kof-
ferdam zur absoluten Trockenlegung und Isolation des
Arbeitsfeldes. Er hält Lippen und Wangen während der
zahnärztlichen Behandlung ab. Er erhöht die Übersicht, ver-
bessert die Zugängigkeit und erleichtert das Absaugen des
Wassersprays. Durch seine hohe Flexibilität und Elastizität
in allen Dimensionen gewährleistet er einen angenehmen
Tragekomfort für den Patienten und erleichtert ihm das
Offenhalten des Mundes. Der OptraDam Plus besteht aus
Latex und ist mit Maisstärke gepudert.
Der OptraDam Plus ist in den Grössen Regular und Small
erhältlich.
Indikation
Zur Anwendung bei zahnärztlichen Behandlungen, in denen
ein absolut trockenes und isoliertes Arbeitsfeld notwendig
ist (z.B. bei adhäsiver Befestigung und Füllungstherapie
sowie bei Wurzelkanalbehandlungen).
Kontraindikationen
Der OptraDam Plus darf bei Patienten mit Latexallergie
nicht eingesetzt werden.
Anwendung
Der kleinere innere Ring wird bei der Anwendung am
Patienten intraoral im Bereich der Umschlagfalte positio-
niert, während der äussere Ring extraoral zu liegen kommt.
Der zwischen den Ringen gespannte elastische Abschnitt
kann so die Lippen des Patienten aufnehmen und durch die
Rückstellkraft der Ringe verdrängen (siehe Abbildung 1).
