► System Mode
This item allows you to select a power-saving function for your system, setting values are: [Normal
System] and [Green System]. When you select [Green System], then your PC will enter energy
saving mode. In this mode, the system does not support S3 state.
For our Green series motherboard, we provide a Green Power Saving (GPS) feature which
combines motherboard and power supply technology to deliver dramatically reduced power
consumption in standby mode. Also, a specific Green power supply is needed to work with it.
This Green power supply is different from normal power supply that there is one addtional switch
located on power supply, and you need to switch it to "Green Mode" to turn on GPS function.
By default, the Green power supply is set to "Normal Mode". If you want to use GPS feature,
you need to follow the below steps to turn it on.
Step 1: Set the "Green Mode/Normal Mode" switch to "Green Mode" position.
Step 2: Connect the two-pin cable from Green power supply to PWR_BU header on the moth-
erboard.
At the mean time, the BIOS "System Mode" setting will be changed to [Green System]
automatically.

In case you have not purchased this specific Green power supply, and you only
have a normal power supply, you still can achieve energy saving by setting this
option to [Green System], but its power-saving is less evident than when a Green
power supply is available.
