Making connections

What connection should I use?

Your TV has several connection types for connecting
devices to your TV.
For the best video quality, you should connect a device to
the best available connection.
Use the following tables to identify cables:

DIGITAL AUDIO
COAXIAL OUT jack

Connect a digital audio amplifier cable
to this jack. For more information, see
“To connect a basic home theater
system using digital audio:” o

page 14.

ANT. (RF) IN jack

Connect an antenna or cable TV to this
jack. For more information, see
“Connecting an antenna or cable TV
(no box)
” on page 10.

Button

Description

POWER

Press to turn your TV on or off (Standby
mode). When your TV is off, power still flows
into it. To disconnect power, unplug the
power cord.

Press to enter a digital sub-channel number.
For more information, see “Selecting a
channel
” on page 16.

SLEEP

Press to set the sleep timer. For more
information, see “Using the Sleep setting” on
page 16.

VOL+/VOL–/

Press to increase or decrease the volume.
Press the arrow keys to navigate through the
on-screen menus and adjust settings.

MENU

Press to open the on-screen menu.

RESET

Press to reset the picture and audio settings
to factory default.

INPUT

Press to open the INPUT SELECT list, then
press

or

to select a video input source.

ZOOM

Press to select the aspect ratio. For more

Press to select the soundtrack language.

Numbers

Press to enter channel numbers and the
parental control password.

RECALL

Press to go to the last viewed channel.

MUTE

Press to mute the sound. Press again to
restore the sound.

CH+/CH–/

Press to go to the next or previous channel
in the channel list. For more information, see
“Selecting a channel” on page 16. Press the
arrow keys to navigate through the
on-screen menus and adjust settings.

ENTER

Press to confirm selections or changes.

EXIT

Press to close the on-screen menu.

INFO

Press to display TV status information, such
as the channel number, channel name (if
available), or signal source. For more
information, see “Viewing program
information” on page 16.

CCD

Press to display the Closed Caption menu
screen.
