ATTACH THE AXLE BRACKET
1. Position the tow hitch assembly under the chipper/shredder
(see Figure 1).
2. Place the axle bracket over the axle.
3. Slide the bracket to the left until it touches the chipper/shred-
der frame.
4. Insert a 3/8" x 1-1/2" bolt through the hole in the bracket.
Secure the bolt with a washer and nut. Do not tighten yet.

before inspecting or servicing any part of this machine,
shut off power source, remove key, disconnect the bat-
tery cables and make sure all moving parts have come
to a complete stop.

ATTACH THE FROnT BRACKET
1. Remove the nuts and washers from the left and right bolts
that attach the leg stand to the chipper/shredder. Remove
the leg stand. Replace the washers and nuts that were taken
off of the left side of the leg stand. On the right side, replace
only the top nut and washer.
2. Put the hitch mounting bracket over the two bolts (center
and right). Replace the washers and nuts using the nuts
and washers provided in the kit.
The tow hitch is not desgined to tow the chipper/shred-
der at speeds above 5 mph, At higher speeds, the
chipper/shredder will become unstable and could be
damaged.

3. Tighten the axle bracket nut and the front bracket nuts
securely.
POSITIOn THE HITCH SUPPORT BRACKET
1. Attach the hitch support bracket to the handle with the pin
provided. Make sure the pin goes through the larger hole
on the bracket (see Figure 3).
2. Pull the handle and bracket up to the hopper side. Mark the
place where the bracket makes contact with the center of
the hopper side.
3. Drill a 3/8" hole through the hopper side.
4. Attach the hitch support bracket to the hopper side with a
5/16" x 3/4" bolt, washer and nut. Make sure that the bolt
goes through the smaller hole on the hopper bracket. Tighten
securely.
OPERATIOn
Pull or push the chipper/shredder with the handle that is mounted
to the hitch.
The hitch can also be connected to a garden tractor to tow the
chipper/shredder at speeds not exceeding 5 mph. When towing,
avoid making sharp turns or the chipper/shredder may tip over.
