2.3.3 Spar Installation
Note: The process described is for a typical installation. Custom kits may be ordered and
are beyond the scope of this manual.
To install the switch to a spar:
1. Set the unit on its side, with the mounting holes facing up.
2. Install a 14” unistrut.
a. Position a 14” unistrut (with the open side facing up) over the mounting
holes on the switch.
b. Using three 1/4-20
bolts, 1/4” split
lockwashers, and 1/4”
flat washers, attach the
unistrut to the switch.
c. Tighten the bolts firmly.
3. Mount the switch as follows:
a. Install two spring nuts in the unistrut (centered on the unistrut, the width of
the spar bracket holes).
b. To install each spring nut:
(1) Place the spring
nut in the unistrut
channel, spring
side down, with
its wide side
parallel with the
unistrut channel.
(2) Press down on
the spring nut to
compress the
spring, and rotate
the nut 90
°
(i.e.,
perpendicular to
the unistrut).
