Setting WEP Options

WEP is not available for 802.11
radios.

1. To set WEP options, click

Extended Configuration
from the Card Configuration
screen.

NOTE: Make sure these WEP

settings match those for
your Access Point.

2. Set WEP Authentication as

1 – Open System
2 – Shared Keys
(802.11b standard)

3. Set the Key Length as

0 – encryption disabled
(clears the check boxes for Xmit Encrypted and Recv Unencrypted)
40 – 40-bit keys. (selects the check boxes for Xmit Encrypted and Recv
Unencrypted)
128 – 128-bit keys (this option is more secure, but older systems may
not support it)

4. Change settings for Xmit Encrypted and Recv Unencrypted if

necessary. Xmit Encrypted transmits encrypted packets, if unchecked it
transmits unencrypted packets. Recv Unencrypted receives (accepts)
unencrypted and encrypted packets, if unchecked only receives
unencrypted packets.

5. Enter the four Key values to match the Access Point’s settings.

NOTE: The key values must be entered in Hexadecimal.

6. Select the Key you want to be active. Only one key may be active at a

time.
