2.1.2 Hardware Requirements for External Setup
SSF can also run on a PC to manage ATCA Systems. Following hardware are required for this
setup:
 A personal computer with following configuration:
– OS: CentOS 6.3, CentOS 6.4, CentOS 5.9, or Red Hat Linux 5.5
– CPU: Intel x86
– Two NIC cards- One for connecting to external network and another (1Gig) for
connecting to base network of System).
 One copper SFP module RJ-45 connector(1Gig)
 One RJ-45 Cable
2.2 Software Requirements
This section provides information about the software required before installing SSF on PrAMC-
7311 card and external PC.
2.2.1 Software Requirements for PrAMC-7311 Setup
You need the following packages for installing SSF on PrAMC-7311. These packages are part of
standard SSF release.

Basic Blade Service (BBS) software of the blade needs to be
installed. The BBS software must be HPI-B compatible.
postgresql-9.1.3-pne3.0.x86_64.rpm
Postgre database for SSF.
freeradius-1.1.7-pne3.0.x86_64.rpm
Provides authentication support to SSF.
libpqxx-2.6.8-pne3.0.x86_64.rpm
Provides APIs using which SSF can communicate with
PostgreSQL database.
