Use the shoulder strap and keep a firm grip on

the unit with both hands. A properly a^’usted

shoulder strap will support the weight of the

unit, freeing your arms and hands to control

and guide the cutting motion.
Keep feet comfortably spread apart and

braced for the possibility of a sudden, rapid

thrust of the unit. Do not overreach. Keep &m

footing and balance.

c. Keep the blade below waist level. Itwillbeeas-

ier to maintain control of the unit.

d. Do not raise the engine above your waist as the

blade can come dangerously dose to your body.

e. Do not swing the unit with such force that you

are in danger of losing your balance.

C. CUTTING METHODS

1. Establish a rhythmic cutting procedure.

a. Plant feet firmly, comfortably apart,

b. Cut while swinging the upper part of your body

from right to left,

c. Move forward to the next area to be cut after

the return swing and plant feet once more,

2, Use the 8 o’clock to 10 o’clock position for cutting.
