Overcast stitch and overlock
By pressing the push-button to the right under the
arrow until the light under the symbol for overcast stitch
or overlock goes on, the machine is automatically set for
joining and overcasting the edges of fabric in one opera
tion.
The elasticity of these stitches is automatically
adjusted to the selected material. If you have selected the
stitch only by pressing the push-button under the arrow,
the machine will always select a stitch that is intended to
be sewn in non-stretch material.

The overcast stitch may be used to sew both light
stretch (1) and non-stretch (2) material.
The overlock is chiefly used for sewing stretch fabric,
but is also suitable for heavy non-stretch fabric.
