furnaces. The horizontal portion of the venting system shall
maintain a minimum of 1/8-in. upward slope per linear ft and it
shall be rigidly supported every 5 ft or less with hangers or straps
to ensure that there will be no movement after installation.
This furnace may also be installed with a Category III vertical or
horizontal (sidewall) vent system using the accessory kit listed on
the vent label on the top plate of the furnace. This kit MUST be
used for Category III venting. Refer to the kit instructions for
detailed information about Category III venting.
A WARNING
DO NOT install a Category III vent system without the
accessory conversion kit. Category III vents without the
accessory kit will have nuisance shutdowns on draft safe
guard switch, and may cause vent and furnace component
failure resulting in property damage, personal injury, or death.
Only special gas vent pipe listed per UL 1738 for Category III
appliances may be used. See accessory kit instructions for allow
able vent pipe and fittings part numbers.
