American nuthatches, the White-
breasted Nuthatch is found in both
deciduous and coniferous forests
throughout the continent.

most of North America.
About the photo:
In addition
to peanuts, White-breasted Nut-
hatches frequently visit feeders for
sunflower seeds and suet.

with an Audubon BirdCam.
My favorite way to use the BirdCam is attached to a tree
trunk, having nothing but peanuts in the tray so the bird’s
colors will show a lot better in detail instead of mixed seeds,
such as sunflower seed shells. I always try to show a darker
background in the picture or a background of a wooded
area. This way the bird’s body colors and details can be seen
a lot better.
