About the bird:
The Red-tailed
Hawk is the most common and wide-
spread hawk in North America, often
seen perched along highways and
country roads, hunting for rabbits and
other small mammals.
Range:
Resident in most of North
America; Canada in summer only.

takes more than sunflower seeds to
attract this bird to your backyard.

This cardinal-
sized bird uses its large bill to devour
seeds, tree buds, insects, and fruit.
Range:
Summers across most of
Canada and the northeastern U.S.;
Southeast in spring and fall only.
