The standby display differs depending on which mode is selected. When the machine is plugged in, the Copy
Mode standby display appears. You can switch from Copy Mode to Fax Mode by pressing FAX.
The standby display in Fax Mode is as follows:

Connecting the Telephone Line and an External
Device
The machine has two jacks on the left side for connection of the following:

: Telephone line
: External device, such as telephone or
answering machine

If you neet to send and
receive faxes and voice calls,
connect the line from the
telephone or answering
machine to the jack.

Connect the supplied
telephone line to the jack,
then connect the other end
of the line to the telephone
jack on your wall.
